Neutralized

When I’m at school, my go-to outfit is anything comfortable and chic – I actually don’t know how else to describe my style. When I’m at my PR job all morning, go to class all afternoon and work on the blog all night, I’m gone most days from 9 to 6 and I have to wear something that goes from morning to noon to night with ease. My new favorite types of pieces are roomy pants – I can’t get enough. Paired with all neutral accessories these army green babies are definitely going to get me through the summer to fall transition in style.

Endless Summer

Well, winter has officially hit in San Francisco (it’s freezing) but I’m trying to hold on to those last few glimpses of summer. I picked up this T Bags Los Angeles top at the Shopbop sale a few weeks back, and I absolutely love it! Paired with my reflective Ray Bans (which I can’t get enough of) I thought it was the perfect summer outfit. Also, confession: I’ve never worn lipstick before! I bought this MAC hue the other day, and I’ve been obsessed ever since – I thought the bubblegum pink really livened things up!

Summer Pinks With Elle & K

I have to admit, not many pink pieces can be found in my closet. I’m typically not an overly feminine dresser either, but when I stumbled upon this hot pink summery number from Elle & K Boutique, I knew I had to have it. I love how simple + flowy it is in the front and how fun the back is with the cutout and loose panels. It’s definitely become a summer staple – now if only San Francisco will get above 65 degrees so I can wear this look more often!

Elle and K Boutique has also graciously offered Dear Serendipity readers a promo code! Simply enter the code DSREADERS upon checkout and you will receive 10% off of your entire order (excluding sale items)!

Summer Wedding Attire

I love a good summer wedding. I love them. Everything about a wedding in the summertime is magical – the ambiance, the ceremony, the food, the music – everything. What’s even better than actually attending is definitely picking out what to wear. I’m completely smitten with the sweetness of this navy BCBG number paired with some fun accessories!

Summer Menswear

I’ve always been one to choose more classic pieces over fleeting, trendy ones, and lots of times the more classic staples are somewhat menswear inspired – classic cut jeans, button downs, and retro sunglasses. Here are a few of my favorite summer pieces that are, yes, inspired by menswear.

Packing Post | Warm Weather

Summertime is obviously the time for vacations – I feel like every other minute I’m packing a bag and jetting off somewhere (this summer I have practically lived out of a suitcase, and I’m not complaining!). Packing can be a tricky business especially when you’re only bringing a carryon, something that I definitely suggest if you’re going on a trip shorter than 5 or so days. Obviously if you’re going somewhere warm it’s much easier to carry on since the clothes are so much lighter (and tinier!). I wanted to put together 2 packing guides – one for warmer temps, one for cooler (look out for this one, coming soon!) – to assist you on your summer vacays and hopefully relieve some of the stress of traveling.

Warm Weather Packing List – 5 Day Getaway

  • 5 pairs of underwear
  • 2 bras (one light, one dark)
  • PJ’s
  • 3 bikinis (you don’t need one for every day!)
  • 2 beach coverups (rotate days)
  • 2 pairs of shorts (one casual, one nice)
  • 2 lightweight tanks / tees
  • 2 blouses / nicer tops
  • 2 dresses (one daytime, one night)
  • 1 tote bag
  • 1 clutch
  • 1 pair of wedges
  • 1 pair of flat sandals
  • 1 pair of Soludos
  • 2 pairs of sunnies (one casual, one nice)
  • Beach reads
  • Sunscreen

Speaking of packing, I wanted to compile some of my favorite items from the list above. Happy shopping (and packing!).

Printed

To be honest, mixing prints has always kind of scared me. I’ve never found two prints I liked enough to mix and I always felt a little ridiculous when wearing them – that was until I popped into Juicy Couture’s summer sale. I haven’t worn much from Juicy since my middle-school sweats days (you weren’t cool unless your sweats said “Juicy” on the butt), but I just couldn’t resist this palm blazer and celestial clutch – this look is so perfect for meeting the girls for happy hour!

Summer in the City

I’ve never really been one to naturally reach for neons or brights, especially not for an entire outfit. But this summer I’m starting to realize the neutrality in even the brightest of brights, especially when you choose two bright pieces in the same color family. This Madewell silk tank and tweed skirt have become neutrals in my wardrobe, especially on hotter days in the city.

Summer Wants

I haven’t done too much shopping for myself while in London – I’ve mainly been collecting pieces for Father’s Day, my mom’s upcoming birthday and for my (very lucky) boyfriend – but that definitely hasn’t stopped me from looking! There are a few key pieces that I’m on the hunt for right now – a farmer’s market tote (with a twist), great printed, silk shorts, and either a printed blazer or pants. Here are some pieces I’m debating on getting and I need your help – if you had to pick 2, which would you buy?

Let me know in the comments section which pieces you think I should splurge on! xo

Beachy Keen

I escaped the craziness of London this weekend and headed to the beach town of Brighton. Since it’s only about an hour outside of the city, this town was the perfect place for a quick getaway. Along with some girlfriends, I laid on the beach, shopped (maybe too much) and ate at some great places! Take a peek at my Brighton adventure.
