Date Night

I recently discovered a new restaurant Clover within walking distance from my house and I couldn’t be more excited about it! I tried it out for lunch last Friday with some girlfriends and then just had to take my boyfriend on Saturday night. I love dressing up for date night (especially in the summer) because I just pile on the colors before fall takes over and blacks and grays are my primary colors. I especially love these turquoise Lisi Lerch earrings – they go with just about everything!

The Best of NYFW

I was waiting to say anything about New York Fashion Week until it was over because I didn’t want to jinx how great every look that came down the runway was, but now that it’s over I can officially say it – I think this was my favorite Fashion Week ever. Every trend for Spring – the black sticking around even after the cold is over, mixing girly pastels with edgy details and the insane prints – surpassed my expectations. Check out a few (okay, so maybe more than just a few) of my favorite looks below – now I’m just waiting for London Fashion Week to finish up so I can recap that too! xo

This BCBG number has me swooning - maxis + black + pastels? Count me in.

I love this Rebecca Minkoff look, and similarly I love the idea of wearing matchy-matchy items. So in for spring!

This Nicole Miller look has me praising the fashion gods that black & white is here to stay... In a big way.

I just... I can't. This Jill Stuart number makes my heart race - I love everything about it. Black and white, crop tops and matching separates are definitely all Spring 2014 trends!

This Mara Hoffman dress is basically the reason I fell in love with fashion. The print + the cutouts are just too amazing.

This Monique Lhuillier number is probably the best thing I saw all of fashion week. I'm dying over cropped tops and maxi skirts for days.

The DVF show was just too cool... It had such a 60's and 70's vibe and I loved it.

I have a thing for Tory Burch prints - she just kills it every time. They're so unique and you can tell they're so inspired by her travels - this green look must end up in my closet.

I always want everything from J.Crew, but these 2 looks are just too good.

I'm too obsessed with Rachel Zoe both on and off the runway, so I couldn't pick just one favorite look. This white number is so glamorous it hurts.

This is another Rachel Zoe fave - I don't know how she does it, but every single piece she sends down the runway I want.

Samantha Wills

A few weeks ago I stumbled upon Samantha Wills jewelry and I actually could not be more obsessed. One of my favorite things in the world is Zodiac accessories (confession: I’m a horoscope junkie and a notoriously stereotypical Aries) and when these Samantha Wills jewels arrived at my doorstep, I was ecstatic. With this Ram necklace, anchor bracelet and Aries bangle, Samantha Wills has totally stolen my heart. Paired with some classic basics (a leather jacket, white tank, black and white colorblocked pants) this look is casually cool. I actually wore this look to an event last Thursday for Ann Taylor x Birchbox!

Giants Gear

I’m so excited – my boy lands in SF tonight! We’re going to spend the weekend wandering around our favorite parts of the city + eating amazing food. We’re also squeezing in a Giants game on Sunday afternoon (he loves his baseball!) and the thought of the game inspired me to bring out my Giants gear. Games in AT&T park are definitely fashion shows – everyone always looks their best in all of their gear! Here’s what I typically wear to  games, although lately a coat has been necessary because it’s so chilly!

Transitional Pieces

Since San Francisco is so darn cold all summer, I start to transition into fall much earlier than most people. However, I think there are some tried and true rules to transitioning from summer to fall that apply wherever you live. First, do lots of layering. Buy pieces that not only look great on their own (silk tanks for summer) but would also look paired with a great jacket + scarf (now you have a chilly-weather outfit!). Secondly, stick to solids and basics. As fun as madras shorts and neon ikat prints can be for summer, you’re really limiting yourself with those pieces since you can only wear them a few months of the year. Instead, I buy classic, streamlined, tailored pieces that look great with anything. For example, this hot pink Equipment blouse would look great tucked into denim shorts for a summer BBQ, but layered with leather leggings + boots, you have a great fall staple. Another common misconception? The second the weather gets cooler you have to lose the brights. Not true! While deeper into Winter I definitely tend to stick to richer hues & black, this early on in the fall season, anything goes! Here are a few of my favorite transitional pieces – I’m especially loving those Phillip Lim pants + Madewell booties!

Endless Summer

Well, winter has officially hit in San Francisco (it’s freezing) but I’m trying to hold on to those last few glimpses of summer. I picked up this T Bags Los Angeles top at the Shopbop sale a few weeks back, and I absolutely love it! Paired with my reflective Ray Bans (which I can’t get enough of) I thought it was the perfect summer outfit. Also, confession: I’ve never worn lipstick before! I bought this MAC hue the other day, and I’ve been obsessed ever since – I thought the bubblegum pink really livened things up!

Summer Pinks With Elle & K

I have to admit, not many pink pieces can be found in my closet. I’m typically not an overly feminine dresser either, but when I stumbled upon this hot pink summery number from Elle & K Boutique, I knew I had to have it. I love how simple + flowy it is in the front and how fun the back is with the cutout and loose panels. It’s definitely become a summer staple – now if only San Francisco will get above 65 degrees so I can wear this look more often!

Elle and K Boutique has also graciously offered Dear Serendipity readers a promo code! Simply enter the code DSREADERS upon checkout and you will receive 10% off of your entire order (excluding sale items)!

Summer Wedding Attire

I love a good summer wedding. I love them. Everything about a wedding in the summertime is magical – the ambiance, the ceremony, the food, the music – everything. What’s even better than actually attending is definitely picking out what to wear. I’m completely smitten with the sweetness of this navy BCBG number paired with some fun accessories!

Date Night

During the summer my boy and I have to do long distance (he’s in Seattle, I’m in San Francisco) so I use all of my date night outfits when I go out to dinners in the city with my parents. I’m absolutely swooning over this white BCBG dress. I originally loved the cut to wear to summer weddings, but since it’s stark white I obviously can’t do that, so it’s quickly become a date night favorite.
